Jeff City Renegades 5K and 1 mile fun walk

Help us raise money for the Jefferson City Renegades Baseball team. Join us Saturday, June 22, 2019, for the JC Renegades, 5k and 1-mile fun run. All participants get to feel the thrill of hitting a home run and running all the bases at Vivion Field at the end of the race. All racers/walkers will get free entrance into the game starting at Noon vs. JC Legends by simply wearing your bib number. Pre-registration starts at 8:00 am and the race/walk starts at 9:00 am. The cost is $25 if you sign up by June 1, 2019, this will guarantee you a t-shirt. All registrations after June 1 will be $30, this includes the day of the race. This will be a timed 5K and medals will be awarded to women and men in each age division.

Can't make it, but still want to support the JC Renegades? We are offering a virtual option for $35. We mail you your bib and t-shirt and you do the 5k/1 mile walk on your own time. Don't forget to post your pictures on our Facebook page.

Fire Station No. 2 Grand Opening

The Jefferson City Fire Department will host a grand opening of Fire Station No. 2.

The fire department will have a ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremony at 4 p.m. May 22 at 2935 E. McCarty St.

The new 10,500-square-foot station has 2.5 bays, a training room, gear storage room, training mezzanine, kitchen and dining area, a police substation, multipurpose room, and bunk rooms.

The Jefferson City Council approved a $2.9 million contract with Curtis-Manes-Schulte Inc. in June 2018 for the project.

The city authorized the sale of the old Fire Station No. 2 at 2400 E. McCarty St.

We are having two ball sessions! The first: 10:00am-12:00pm and the second: 1:30pm-3:30 pm. If these sessions get sold out quickly, we may add a third session from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Royal Guests: Polynesian Princess, Cinderella, Ice Queen, Ice Princess, Mermaid Princess, Tinker Fairy, Rapunzel, Princess Beauty, Sleeping Princess, & the Frog Princess

The princesses will make a royal entrance and performance into the ball. Following, everyone will have the chance to enjoy a special snack, dance time, crafts, photos with their favorite princesses, and much more!

Be sure to wear your favorite princess attire! If you are 12 years or older, you may wear a prom/homecoming type dress, but cannot portray a princess character. And if things weren't bad enough, Ma tells Laura she must be nice to Johnny Steadman, "the worst boy in Iowa." When wealthy Mrs. Starr asks for Laura as a companion to read to her in the afternoons, Laura is overjoyed to be invited into such a fine house, but when she overhears Mrs. Starr offer to adopt Laura as her own daughter to ease the burden of so many children, Laura is certain that Ma and Pa will give her up.
