Bicentennial Bridge to the Island

The bridge to connect Jefferson City to Adrian Island will soon be a realty!!

This is exciting news for our community in mid-Missouri as well as visitors to our area to share such a beautiful riverfront park and bridge which is scheduled for completion by 2021.

The “Island”, or Adrian Island was once a true island and was donated to Jefferson City by the Adrian family. It is about 30 acres and is mostly forested land at the moment. The bridge will give unrestricted access to the riverfront of the Missouri River and become a huge attraction with trails, overlooks, fishing, viewing gardens, possible outdoor gathering spaces or amphitheater.

The bridge will be approximately 830 ft long. It will be an eight-span pedestrian / bicycle bridge and span across the Union Pacific Railroad. There will be simulated railroad cars to make it look aesthetically unique with it’s interactive exhibits and benches.
